What We Believe

Statement of Faith

We accept the Scriptures as our sole authority in matters of faith and practice and our interpretation of Bible doctrine leads us adamantly to believe the following:

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as being verbally inspired by God and inerrant and infallible in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority.

In one God eternally existing in one essence, yet co-equal persons, the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

That Jesus Christ was begotten by God the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary.

In the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is the life of the believer. He empowers the preaching and teaching of the Gospel.

That mankind was created in the image of God, sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God and that human beings are born with a sinful nature.

That the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood.

In the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into Heaven, and His present life there as High Priest and Advocate for us

In the blessed hope, which is the personal, visible, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

That all who receive, by faith, the Lord Jesus Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God and heirs of eternal life.

In the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost in Hell, and the fellowship of the saved in Heaven.

In the existence of a personal devil, who is still working in the world to destroy the souls of mankind. That he and all his angels and all who do not receive Christ as their personal savior will eternally perish in the lake of fire.

In the Church, whose mission it is to preach the Scriptures to all the world, all of its endeavors being guided by multiple leaders and supported by the wise stewardship of God’s people.

The purpose of the church is to glorify God. It shall seek to attain this end through the public worship of God, the preaching of the Scriptures, consistent Christian living by its members, personal evangelism, and Christian education.

That the ordinances of the Church, given by the LORD, are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Communion).

Statement on Baptism

Baptism is part of the Great Commission set forth by Jesus Christ prior to His ascension back into Heaven. As such, we do see that baptism is a command given to the Church. Therefore, we believe the following statements are true concerning baptism:

  1. Baptism is not necessary for salvation.

  2. Baptism is part of the work of sanctification of the believer and should be practiced by all true believers upon their confession of faith.

  3. We do not believe that the baptism of an infant brings said infant into any covenant or other relationship with God.

  4. Baptism is an act of obedience to the Word of God, wherein the true believer symbolizes his/her own death, burial, and resurrection in Christ.

    1. Death of the old, sinful nature by submitting to Christ.

    2. Burial by the immersion in water.

    3. Resurrection by the bringing up of the body from the water.

  5. As commanded by Jesus, baptism should always be done in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Statement on the Lord’s Supper (Communion)

The Lord’s Supper, or Communion, was instituted by Jesus Christ on the night He was betrayed and arrested. While having the Passover meal with His disciples, He took the separate elements, the bread and the wine, and gave them to His disciples in the establishing of the new covenant. He then told them that when they do the same thing in the future, it should be done in remembrance of Him. Therefore, we believe the following statements are true concerning Communion:

  1. The bread represents the body of Jesus, which was beaten, hung on a cross, died, buried, and raised from the dead after three days.

  2. The wine represents the blood of Jesus, which was poured out as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of all who would come to believe in Him.

  3. When we take communion together, we are reminding ourselves, and those around us, of the finished and completed work that Jesus accomplished through His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension.

  4. Communion is to be done in three ways:

    1. Often

    2. In remembrance of Jesus and His work

    3. In a worthy manner.

Statement on Gender, Marriage, and Sexuality

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We, as a ministry, will only conduct a marriage ceremony and recognize the marriage between a biological male and a biological female (man and woman).

We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and woman who are married to each other. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including, but not limited to, adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God.

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be condemned.
