Soli Deo Gloria!

What is the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

The Gospel is the good news about who Jesus is and what He has done for us. But before we can get to the good news, we have to talk about the bad news.

The bad news is that all people have a bad relationship with God. The first man, Adam, disobeyed God and brought sin and death into the world. That means that all of us were born with a natural tendency to sin. To make matters worse, there is nothing we can do about it on our own.

The good news is that God had a plan from the very beginning. He knew that Adam would sin and He has made a way for sinful man to be saved. This is made possible by the death, resurrection, and ascension of God’s only begotten Son, Jesus.

Jesus was a real person. His life is well documented by historians. But He was not just a man, He was God in the flesh of humanity.

Jesus was arrested by the Jewish religious leaders of His day. He was then turned over to Roman authorities to be crucified, a brutal form of execution. In His death, Jesus became our substitute.

Sin demands a payment to be made. The Bible tells us that payment is death. When He died, Jesus paid that debt for all people who will be saved throughout all time.

But Jesus did not stay dead. He was resurrected, or brought back to life, by the power of God. He came out of the tomb and was seen by 500 different people over the next 40 days.

Jesus then went back to Heaven where He now prays for His people.

This is the good news, that those who believe in Jesus can be saved. The Bible tells us to believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess that Jesus is Lord over our lives. This is how we are saved from the debt of our sin.

That is only the beginning. We believe and confess Jesus, then we live a life that is pleasing to God. We can’t do this on our own. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be our guide and to show us how to live our lives.

If you have believed, it is time to find a good, Bible teaching church and be in fellowship with other believers.

Cecelia Cantrell-Crow

Being the wife of our founder and president is not an easy task. God created a special woman to be able to cope with him and the life that the ministry offers.

Cecelia was raised in the Church. More important than that, she has a deep, loving relationship with the Lord.

Cecelia is the Editor-in-Chief of all Red River Ministries publications.

Having known Jerry since first grade, she has always supported him in every endeavor and is his greatest help when things get difficult.

Cecelia loves to read and goes through more books in one year than some people may read in their entire lifetime.
